Yorkshire-based musician Sophie Cooper explores an experimental field between dreamlike pop songs, psychedelia, drone and weird noises. She is also the founder of West Yorkshire’s psych- and drone event Tor Festival and writes for the Radio Free Midwich, an experimental music blog. Cooper recently collaborated with Delphine Dora – also playing on this year’s Fanø Free Folk Festival – on the acclaimed “Distance Future”, which was mentioned as one of the best experimental releases of 2015 in Pitchfork who described the music as “wordless hymns sung by ghosts”. The ghostly qualities of the music have had other critics comparing it to the moods of Twin Peaks. Don’t be surprised if the ghosts will join us for a dance in Sønderho Forsamlingshus.
